What’s new in OurDot
Real dates, real changes. Most of these came straight from family feedback.
The ourdot.app website and a web app at ourdot.app/app. A 💬 feedback tab on every screen, with replies in "My feedback." Show/Hide on password fields. A calmer design without pink gradients.
Family Kitchen: 12 recipes with kid jobs by age, made-without swaps, a week plan and a shared shopping list.
Lessons: Safe & Kind Online (18 lessons in 3 age tracks, with refreshers at 1 week, 1 month and 3 months) and Earning Online, the Honest Way.
A private journal with optional prompts and moods, and an on-phone check that shows help resources if an entry sounds like someone is struggling.
Game time: guardian-set daily limits, one-day extra time and a gentle stopping-point nudge.
Games: OurWord (the daily family word), four daily logic puzzles, family trivia, Draw & Guess, Letter Garden, Number Race, Garden Maze, Lantern Lights and two chapters of Family Quest.
Safety: report and block on messages, urgent reports hidden right away, a reviewer queue, and an on-phone word check that pauses unkind words and blocks explicit words in chats with kids.
Voice and video calls inside chats. Kids are never alone on a call with an adult who isn't their guardian, and calls are never recorded.
Bundled notifications (9 am, 3 pm, 9 pm) for adults; kid, guardian-line and urgent messages always arrive right away. Alerts say who wrote, never what.
Bigger, simpler screens; a weekly guardian summary (patterns only, never message text); photos in chats; deleting your account in the app.
OurDot family beta begins: invite-only families, the family feed with private hearts, messages-first home, group chats, the guardian line, voice notes, names and nicknames, and photo location stripping.
